Excelr8 Motorsport were founded in 2010, initially competing in the Mini Challenge series.
British Touring Car Championship
2019 saw the team step up to the BTCC, taking over the running of two MG 6s, in what would be the final year for that car.
Excelr8 built on the maiden 2019 BTCC year with a significant investment in two new Hyundai i30 N Fastback replacing the two MGs.
Tom Ingram joined the team in 2021, making the switch from a longstanding relationship with Speedworks Motorsport and it’s Toyota Corolla and predecessor Toyota Avensis cars. Tom would lift the drivers title in 2022 with Excelr8.
The 2023 driver line up saw Tom Ingram joined by Tom Chilton, Ronan Pearson, and Nick Halstead. Tom Ingram finished runner up to Ash Sutton in the drivers title fight. The driver line-up remained unchanged for the 2024 season.
